2 Chronicles 22-23, the Evil Reign of Ahaziah and Athaliah, has held my attention for the past few months. I have read this story numerous times because I have just been in awe of God’s goodness and faithfulness.
In the midst of something so evil and chaotic, God was behind the scenes working everything out, preserving His people to continue with His plan and keep his promise.
I found so much hope in this book of the bible because who God was then is who God is now.
The same God that was faithful to preserve then, is faithful to preserve now. Suffering happened, evil took place for a moment, but God was faithful to preserve his people.
Throughout scripture, God promises to preserve us and protect us and we can trust that.
With so much going on in the world it is easy to lose hope and begin wondering where is God in the middle of all of this? Why is he allowing this to happen?
We have all had an interesting few years and I am sure if I spoke to everyone individually there would be personal stories that were uncomfortable or difficult to handle.
Finding hope and peace in the middle of chaos is not always the easiest thing. But when we remember the God that we serve, what God did for others, and what God has promised us then we can be confident that everything will work out.
The God that was faithful to preserve the lineage of David, is the same God that is faithful to preserve today.
Should you be growing weary waiting to see the fruition of a promise, cling to the word of God.
Below you will find a few scriptures to remind you that God is faithful to preserve.
We don’t have to fear evil or worry about uncomfortable situations because we know that God’s light will always overcome any darkness.
